Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her home town. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jewish. Ryder believes that her father had a Jewish family. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The town didn't even have electricity. There was no television books were the only way for Ryder to spend the time and she began to read extensively. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged twelve years old. Ryder landed her first film role on the large screen in 1986 when she was 15 years old. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. She thought that by becoming an actor her behaviour was going to be corrected. Unfortunately that didn't come to be. But she pushed on with her dream. Her biggest break occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder had a successful role in numerous films. In 1993, she received an Oscar Prize to be awarded for The Age of Innocence.
