Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, Sunshine has performed across the globe. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing the piano and singing in the church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on the Atlanta's R&B Scene. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) was approached for the position of director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
